A Journey from Wealth to Emptiness
Born into a poor family in Lebanon 84 years ago, George Ailuri spent much of his life in pursuit of happiness. Like many, he believed that financial success and worldly pleasures—especially romantic relationships—would bring him true contentment.
At a young age, he married and had four children, but his ambition for wealth and excitement led him to leave his family behind. His relentless drive took him across Europe, where he established five successful banks, including in London, the United States, and Bahrain. He amassed immense wealth, owning luxurious properties on Paris’s prestigious Avenue Foch and a mansion near London, complete with sprawling gardens and a private boat dock.
A Life of Luxury That Failed to Satisfy
George lived a life most could only dream of—chartering Concorde flights, attending exclusive banker dinners, and engaging in countless romantic encounters. Yet, despite the opulence, he was consumed by an overwhelming emptiness. The happiness he had pursued all his life remained elusive, leaving him in despair.
A Near-Death Experience That Changed Everything
One fateful day, while piloting a Cessna over Paris, George faced a catastrophic malfunction that could have ended his life. As the plane spiraled out of control, he was gripped by fear—not just of dying, but of the unknown that lay beyond death.
In desperation, he cried out to Jesus Christ—not as a believer, but as a man searching for salvation. Miraculously, he survived the crash with only minor injuries. Though shaken, he failed to fully grasp the significance of what had just happened and continued his life of excess for another two decades.
A Moment of Desperation Leads to Redemption
Years later, George encountered a severe crisis—he was being blackmailed in a way that threatened to destroy everything he had built. Once again, in desperation, he called out to Jesus, promising to change his life if he could find a way out. Miraculously, the blackmail issue was resolved.
This event shook him to his core. For the first time, he fell to his knees, surrendering to Jesus Christ and acknowledging Him as the Son of God. In that moment of humility, George felt a joy and peace he had never known. At the age of 65, he finally found the happiness he had been seeking his entire life.
Reuniting with Family and Restoring What Was Lost
His transformation led him to reflect on his past mistakes. After 31 years of separation, he sought reconciliation with his former wife and children. Through faith and repentance, he restored his broken relationships, rekindling love and family bonds.
